Preschool & Kindergarten

Our RVAA pre-kindergarten class works alongside our kindergarten class, but at their own developmentally appropriate level. We offer a low student-to-teacher ratio and caring teachers. All academics are taught from a Biblical worldview, with an emphasis on each individual’s personal relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Students enjoy coming to school to play games and work together on projects with classmates and all the while, they are learning. Developing a “growth mindset” (Dweck 2006) and the value of hard work and perseverance are taught.  Much of our learning is also accomplished through music. Pre-K students practice the alphabet and early reading skills, science and social studies concepts, numbers and computations with emphasis on 1–12, cooperative play; and most importantly they learn Bibles stories and that God created and loves each one of them. Kindergarten does all of the above plus greater learning in math computations and reasoning, sight words & language arts, and many science, Bible, and social studies lessons which incorporate language and math skills.
